This is just a list of the more common, or more distinct, -dere types! Please don't feel limited to just this selection. There's a frankly terrifying amount of deres, and I am not going to list all of them here.

Keep in mind, your -dere does not have to have a crush on anyone! While -dere types traditionally refer to how they behave around their love interests, in this case they'll be used as general shorthand for an archetype.
​
Your character can of course deviate from the archetype and have unique traits, or exclude common traits! These are basic starting points, and quick descriptions of the character types.
just do not make "thugdere" or byoukidere characters or i will steal your kidneys.

If you really want to make a character with a similar archetype to a "Thugdere", please use the term Kitikudere instead.
The one that started it all.
Cheerful, optimistic, and outgoing shonen protagonist type who is powered by pure friendship. Usually the "sunshine" character.

Danderes are shy, withdrawn, and sometimes a bit melancholy. Kawaii-desu shy uwu babies that need to be protected at all costs.

While often misinterpreted as Tsunderes, Kuuderes are quite distinct.
While a Tsundere is characterized by their aggression and over-compensation, a Kuudere is characterized by indifference and a calm, stoic demeanor.

Yanderes are characterized by violence and devotion. They tend to get fixated on a specific person, and are willing to do anything to get what they want.

Daruderes are often annoyed with existence itself. Everything is a pain, doing this thing for you is a pain... But they'll do it anyway. Not 'cause they like you or anything, though.

The world is a circus, and they want to be the ringmaster.
Kamideres either have a severe god-complex, truly believe themselves to be a god, or might actually be a deity who is a little too drunk on power.

They may actually be royalty, think of themselves as royalty, or simply behave as a stereotypical prince. They tend to be charming on the surface, but a bit full of themselves and often self-centered.

They might want fealty from whomever they deem their subjects.
Princessly Characters.

Sometimes actual royalty, or just behaving like they are, or wanting to be treated as such.
They tend to be arrogant and bratty, but may be misleadingly charming and sweet to get what they want.

They might want to be waited on hand and foot, pampered, and enjoy making others do their dirty work.
